How OurMenu collects, secures, and handles data for restaurant merchants, staff, and diners.
1Introduction & Overview
OurMenu (“we,” “our,” or “us”) operates a multi-tenant software-as-a-service platform providing digital interactive QR menus, dine-in table ordering, visual web builders, kitchen display systems (KDS), and point-of-sale services for restaurant merchants and their dining guests.
We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting the personal data of restaurant owners, operators, staff members, and diners who interact with our platform.
2Information We Collect
A. Merchant Account Information
When you register as a merchant, we collect business contact details including your restaurant name, business address, email, telephone number, billing currency, tax identification/GST numbers, and administrative login credentials.
B. Diner & Guest Ordering Data
When customers scan QR codes to view menus or place orders, we process their table identifier, order item selections, special instructions, and optionally their name and phone number for order status updates, bill requests, or loyalty rewards.
C. Payment & Billing Data
Payment transactions are processed by certified third-party payment gateways (such as Stripe, Razorpay, or banking partners). OurMenu does not store complete credit/debit card numbers or CVV codes on our application servers.
3How We Use Information
- To provision and administer unique tenant subdomains and digital menus.
- To transmit food orders instantaneously to kitchen display systems and waiter staff devices.
- To calculate line items, subtotals, applicable taxes, and generate electronic bills and receipts.
- To manage and enforce subscription plan quotas, feature flags, and billing cycles.
- To power merchant analytics reports, sales metrics, and customer feedback management.
- To safeguard the platform against fraud, abuse, and unauthorized access.
4Multi-Tenant Architecture & Data Security
OurMenu employs strict multi-tenant data isolation. Each merchant's menu items, customer feedback, and orders are isolated by database foreign key constraints and server-side verification tokens. No merchant can view or manipulate data belonging to another tenant.
5Cookies & Local Storage
We use secure browser cookies and local storage tokens strictly to maintain session authentication, remember merchant visual builder preferences, and manage diner cart items between table ordering sessions. We do not use third-party tracking cookies to sell customer data to advertising networks.
6Data Rights & Deletion Requests
Merchants and diners have the right to request access to, correction of, or permanent erasure of their personal data. To initiate an export or data deletion request, please submit a written inquiry to our compliance team.
